Let Peace Island Tours take you exploring down the magnificent Peace River valley and provide you with a wilderness experience unique to all others.  Exploring in our 32' cabin cruiser allows you the opportunity to get close to nature safely and in comfort.

Wildlife viewing, photography, rock hounding, birding, hiking, catered camping, and good times are all part of the vacation packages we have to offer for all ages.  Join us for the week, night, day or let us customize the perfect getaway package for you or your group.

Your wilderness adventures starts with the 37 mile journey to Peace Island. While en route you will learn about the paddle wheelers that traveled these same waters at the turn of the last century.  You will hear the tales of the past and witness many of the after effects that are still very evident today.  And of course we are always on watch for wildlife as we pass through their natural habitat in hopes of getting up close with out causing stress to them. 

Once you arrive at the island our hosts welcome you and make you feel right at home. You will be shown to your cabin and around the camp that is now yours to relax at and explore from.  The length of your stay will determine the itinerary you follow from here.

• Wilderness Expedition

  • Come and explore in the Mighty Peace River Valley with us.  Choose to hike through the wonderful scenery and impressive lookouts ranging from an easy to strenuous hike with only a day pack and lots of film.  You will be back in a comfortable camp each night and all the cooking is done for you while appreciating the local flora and fauna.
     

  • From experienced rock hounding buffs to beginners, the Peace River Valley offers opportunities to explore mile after mile of untouched shoreline along pre-glacial riverbeds.  In an area that very few people have explored, you can expect to find agate, jasper, black jade, gem quality ammonite, petrified wood, baculite and fossils galore.

Company Profile

Peace Island Tours is the only commercial / ecotourism venture on the entire 1,923 kilometres of the Peace River.  The island operation has been in business continuously since 1976.  Your island host and jet boat captain was born on the Peace River, at Fort Vermillion, Alberta and has spent many years researching the history of this magnificent river and exploring its miles and miles of untouched, unspoiled beauty.

We operate a 32 foot, twin engine, enclosed tour boat with all the required safety equipment and certifications.  Our safety record is impeccable and we are proud of our people, equipment, and facilities.

We are members of The Mighty Peace Tourist Association and support the efforts of all our members.  We proudly support many local, provincial, and national organizations that work together for community and environmental improvements.
